Well, we visited Mamma Mia Pasta & Pizza last night for a nice traditional Italian dinner, and as usual our host Ciro showed everyone a great time. I actually wanted to have some pizza, since it is one of the best I have tried in the area but I could not pass up the Ossobuco, which is a Milanese specialty of cross-cut veal shanks braised with vegetables, white wine and broth.
Then to top it off they had homemade Tiramisu, which is one of the most popular Italian cakes, iis made of biscuits dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone, and flavored with liquor and cocoa.

That’s the thing about pizza, not everyone can agree on “the best”.

For me, what I look for is fresh. Fresh cheese, fresh toppings and fresh dough.

The reason I thing Mamma Mia Pizza Pasta is the best pizza in Apex is the freshness. I love that I can get a pepperoni pizza and there’s not a puddle of oil on it when I get it home.

The second reason I love Mamma Mia Pizza is the family that runs it. They make you feel like you are actually appreciated, in fact after just a few visits, they would welcome me by name when I would show up.

The restaurant part is a bit strip-mallish, but then again, they are in a strip mall. If you can get beyond that, just ask what they suggest and they will bring you fresh homemade plates of food.
