Well, that time of the year has arrived and its time for spring cleaning. I never knew that the siding of a home accumulated so much dirt, so it was time to look for a good pressure washing service in Apex.

I didn’t have to look far, just from regular conversations from neighbors, one name kept coming up over and over, Rodney’s Prowash.

I googled him and found that he is a local Apex resident, gave him a call and set up an appointment. He was very prompt and professional and his pricing reasonable.

When he was finished power washing, we chatted for a bit and I found out that he has been servicing the Apex area for the past six years. His portfolio extends from small homes to big mansions. I’m sure by now you’ve heard,—-The Grass is Greener on the Other Side…… Well, Spring time is approaching fast and we have to start to get the Lawn/Garden ready, Weeding, Aerating, Seeding, etc. If you do all the Landscaping yourself, tell us where you shop, if you have a Landscaping Company in Apex maintain your lawn, let us know who they are.

Hardware Stores

You start a project in your house and realized you need a special tool, nuts and bolts or even a replacement florescent bulb.

Which hardware store do you think of first?

Do you choose Home Depot or Lowes because you figure they have everything? Do you dread the traffic at Beaver Creek and decide to try someplace else?

What about needing some help with what your looking for? How does that influence your thinking?

Maybe you’ve given up on all of it and are now ordering straight from Amazon.com.

I know the Ground Hog saw its shadow which means 6 more weeks of winter, once the warm weather breaks, you need to have your Air Conditioning unit serviced for optimum performance & energy savings, which Heating & A/C professionals do you recommend in Apex?

Home Improvements, now this is never ending, you need to update your bathroom, you finish with that then you need to update the kitchen, just when you think your done, well, you need new flooring go compliment the work you just had done….I did mention, never ends! Which companies in Apex are the best for Home Improvement? Which ones should we avoid?

Electricians

Electricity, now that’s something I will not play with, hear it can give you a nice JOLT! I used an Electrician from Raleigh to do some outdoor wiring for but I am sure there are some good ones in Apex. Can anyone recommend a good local Licensed Electrician?

We all know how important the Plumbing is in a house, cannot live without it! I always say if you maintain it, it wont break, just like a car. We need to list some of Apex’s Plumbers here. Personally, my hot water heater went and the company that my home owners insurance sent was from Henderson, over an hour away!

I guess at one point, everyone has to do some maintenance to their home, from upgrading your kitchen or bathroom, to an electrician or a plumber or even a cleaning service to clean your home. How about your favorite Landscaper? Who are the best people to contact for the job? And for the “Do-it-Yourselfer” which stores give you the best product for your money?

Outstanding HVAC Service

Steward Heating & Air Conditioning treated me so well, I’ve since sent them 3 additional customers. I can’t think of any other big ticket item that I can say that about.

It started around Thanksgiving 2007, there had been a warm streak and I wanted to run the AC for a while before going to bed to cool off the house… you guessed it, no cold air.

Our first reaction was to go to Home Depot and talk to the Trane dealer there, but after we filled out the paperwork, nobody ever returned our call. Then we called 2 local HVAC companies. To tell you the truth I don’t even remember who the other one was.

The other guys told us we needed all sorts of stuff that was going to run us over $3,000!

I emailed from their website form and just a few minutes later had a response from Chris Thorne who was their V.P. / C.O.O., which was totally unexpected and pretty darn awesome.

Over the next hour or so I gave him a rough idea of our square footage and what type of unit we had outside that had stopped working and he gave me a ballpark quote via email. No pressure. No “we’ll have to send a guy out and charge you but you’ll get it back if you use us” BS. Just a rough estimate of $1,800.

I told him that as soon as our tax refund showed up I’d give them a call.

A couple months later when I called him back to schedule the work, he told me that one of their vendors had dropped their price, and that I should switch to that brand because they also were the only ones offering a 10 year warranty instead of the industry average 5. So now I was getting a better unit for about $100 less.

They sent out a tech who swapped out the broken one for the new a day or two later. The whole process was pretty quick, about an hour.

The next rough spot was trying to register the warranty. My wife was having trouble doing it through their website because our numbers weren’t working. She called Stewarts and spoke to Angela who then took care of everything for us.

I can’t say enough for the level of service the guys at Stewarts provided. It’s the kind of service you read about but rarely find.
